Halloween Trick or Treat Interactive Book for Special Education

This adorable trick or treat book works on so many skills, in just one book! It is designed to be used in either 2 ways, depending on what you want the student to work on and their level. They can work on matching the candy to each basket, or they can work on counting the candies as they go through each page.

Each page also follows the steps of trick or treating. The repetitive text is great for AAC users! 

Reading
You Read - I Read Option: This is a very predictive book with the text being almost the same on each page (knocking and ringing doorbell alternate). Staff can choose a part to read and the student can do the others, and possibly work up to reading the whole book.

Also, not included in the text but talk about the buckets and the matching candy! What is it? What color is it? Do you like it? Is it scary? Have fun with it and see where it leads up.

Interactive Pieces
Matching: Students match the picture from the back page to each page while they read.

Counting: Students take off the candy from each page and place in the boxes at the back page to count as they read. (Use the sentence at the bottom, “I have ___ candies.”
